It may still be a rare vegetable in Japan, but in Europe it is as common as the regular zucchini and has long been eaten as an edible flower.
The difference between flowering zucchinis and regular zucchinis is that the harvesting period is different; while regular zucchinis are harvested 4 to 5 days after flowering, flowering zucchinis have an even shorter period and are harvested in the early morning when the flowers are open.For this reason, zucchini itself is originally harvested when it is immature, but zucchini flowers need to be harvested even earlier, making them extremely valuable.
If zucchini flowers are left to grow without being harvested, they will turn into regular zucchinis, so they are like young crops.The flowers are stuffed with cheese or meat and then eaten fried, baked, or steamed, making them a stylish and colorful vegetable.
